Rebekah Parsons - Ballet Instructor

Rebekah is an emerging Melbourne/Naarm based dance artist and teacher originally from Castlemaine. Rebekah completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2022. During her time at VCA Rebekah performed in ‘Rise’ (Daniel Riley and Brianna Kell 2020), ‘Private Matters’ (Tristan Carter & Dylan Tedaldi 2021), ‘Theatrum Botanicum’ (Gregory Lorenzutti 2022), ‘Splinter Group’ (Lucy Guerin 2022) and ‘Footprints’ (Ngioka Bunda-Heath 2022).

Rebekah began her dance training at Over the Moon Yoga and Dance Studios (2009-2019) attending Ballet, Contemporary, Choreography and Pointe classes over the years. During her time at Over The Moon, Rebekah was a class assistant in various ballet and contemporary classes. Her years at Over The Moon played a big part in developing her love of improvisation, experimentation, and performance.

Alongside her love of performing and choreography, Rebekah is a passionate and skilled dance teacher, eager to share her love of the art form with others. Rebekah is committed to creating and holding healthy, safe, and inclusive learning environments. Rebekah is a certified Kinderballet teacher. As well as teaching at Over The Moon, Rebekah teaches pre-school and primary school ballet and contemporary dance at Nook Dance Centre in Melbourne.

She was awarded the ‘Domonique Segan Emerging Artist Award’ (2017) for her participation in the creation and performance of the Castlemaine State Festival opening ‘Future of Things Past’ (2017) choreographed by Southpaw Dance Company’s Robby Graham.
